Giving a gift of appreciated assets\u2013stocks, bonds, or mutual funds\u2014to the Coastal Conservation League may provide you with a greater tax benefit and make a bigger impact along our coast.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By donating assets directly to the organization, you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the increased value and your charitable income tax deduction will be equal to the fair market value of the asset.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You may donate appreciated assets in any of the following ways:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. If the stock is held in a brokerage account, you may transfer stock from your broker to our broker, Harrington Bissell, through the Depository Trust Company (DTC).\u202f\u00a0<\/span>
    \n<\/span>This is the easiest method for transferring stock.<\/p>\n

    <\/em>The transfer should be made to:<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>DTC Clearing #0725<\/span>\u202f(Raymond James and Associates)\u202f<\/span>
    \n<\/span>for credit to:\u202f A\/C 50785215<\/span>\u202f<\/span>
    \n<\/span>in the name of\u202f<\/span>Coastal Conservation League<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n

  2. If you have a stock certificate in your name and wish to donate it, please send the following documents to our broker Terri Dupavillon.<\/span>\n

    <\/span>\u2014a signed Raymond James and Associates Stock Power (provided by Raymond James and Associates)
    \n<\/span>
    \n\u2014<\/span>a signed Letter of Authorization (provided by Raymond James and Associates)<\/span>
    \n*Please send the stock certificate alone via registered mail. For security purposes, the signed stock power and security release should be sent in a separate envelope.<\/p>\n
