The Coastal Conservation League is a nonprofit conservation organization that works with communities, elected officials, businesses, and citizen groups to protect the natural landscapes, abundant wildlife, clean air and water, and quality of life along the South Carolina coast. We are a group of 36 passionate individuals and tackle issues such as flooding, offshore drilling, improving transportation, and smart growth along the coast of South Carolina. We have offices in Charleston, Georgetown, Beaufort, and Columbia as well as operating a food hub in the Charleston area called GrowFood Carolina.<\/p>\n

We have just completed a five-year, $20 million campaign and are reorganizing to establish a sustainable post-campaign fundraising structure. Accordingly, the Coastal Conservation League is searching for a full-time Major Gift Officer whose primary responsibility will be the identifying, qualifying, soliciting, and stewarding of major gift donors. \u00a0This position will serve as a part of the Development team and will work to support primarily major gift initiatives. As appropriate, the Major Gift Officer will also identify and coordinate the management of key volunteers. The Major Gift Officer will be expected to manage a portfolio of prospects while also collaborating with fundraising colleagues within the Coastal Conservation League. This position reports to the Director of Development.<\/p>\n

This position requires the ability to travel, primarily within the state, to meet with donors and to assist with events. Occasional evening and weekend work are required to be successful in this role.<\/p>\n
