Rebekah Spaid

Farm Outreach Coordinator

Rebekah is a recent transplant from the mountains of West Virginia to the lowcountry of Charleston. In her role as Farm Outreach Coordinator, she brings a wealth of agricultural expertise and a passion for fostering sustainable practices in farming communities. Her roots in agriculture were sown on her grandfather’s farm, cultivating a lifelong commitment to the industry. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Rebekah developed her skills through hands-on experience in various agribusinesses and diverse farms, and earned both an A.A. in Agriculture Education from Potomac State College of WV and a BASc in Agriculture Science from Oregon State University.

At GrowFood Carolina, Rebekah channels her passion for agriculture, empowering farmers, advocating for sustainable agroecology, and championing food justice initiatives. Her commitment to effect change in both communities and agriculture is embodied in her work. Beyond her professional pursuits, Rebekah finds joy in nature, embarking on hiking adventures, immersing herself in literature, discovering new cuisines and cultures, and cherishing the company of her three fur companions.
