Growing up in upstate South Carolina, Emmi found inspiration early on from nature and has used that to drive her career. After receiving dual bachelor’s degrees in English and Strategic Communications from High Point University, Emmi moved to Charleston in 2020 to pursue her M.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Studies at the College of Charleston. With a focus on coastal resilience, science communication, and policy, Emmi entered a career of storytelling and engagement that led her to the Coastal Conservation League in 2023.
As the Communications Manager, she draws from her interdisciplinary background to creatively advance public awareness and engagement of the Conservation League’s programs and events. Emmi is an avid reader, traveler, and concert-goer. Otherwise, you can find her trying the newest restaurant in town, at the yoga studio, or spending time with her Siamese cat Lelo.
