Woody SE Asia Exports to Increase

Exports of woody materials from the US Southeast to Europe are expected to increase significantly in the years to come as Europe substitutes biomass for coal to generate electricity. In advance of this transition, England’s Department of Energy and Climate Change recently proposed that generators of 1MW capacity and above must meet sustainability criteria, including a requirement for wood fuel to come from sustainably managed forests, in order to receive financial incentives.
