Europe's Aging Nuclear Fleet Shows Costly Wear and Tear

A draft report examining Europe’s aging nuclear fleet in the aftermath of Japan’s Fukushima disaster last year has raised serious concerns about the safety of the continent’s nuclear facilities. The commission responsible for the report contends that repairs and improvements necessary to reduce risks would cost in excess of $30 billion.
