The Coastal Conservation League congratulates the citizens of Dorchester County for approving the continuation of the penny sales tax to fix roads and preserve open space. This promises to provide much-needed opportunities to alleviate traffic congestion, protect the county’s most important natural resources, and offer residents more access to nature, especially in rapidly growing areas like Ridgeville and Givhans. We look forward to working with stakeholders to help identify strategic priorities for conservation and study various opportunities for priority transportation routes, especially in the Ashley River Corridor.
