by Andy Hollis

Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Coastal Conservation League announced today that Board Chair Andrea Cooper will step down as chair of the Conservation League board. Cooper, of Sullivan’s Island, will relocate to Greenville, where she will serve as executive director of Upstate Forever, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental conservation in the South Carolina Upstate region. She will start work in early October.

“My years spent working with the talented staff and dedicated board at the Coastal Conservation League have laid the foundation for this move, where I will bring my skill set and passion to Upstate Forever to strengthen the statewide conservation movement,” said Cooper.

“The Conservation League will miss Andrea Cooper, but we are happy she will remain an integral part of the greater conservation community in South Carolina,” said Dana Beach, founder and executive director of the Conservation League. “We are grateful for her years of service as a board member and chair of this organization, and we look forward to working with her in her new capacity at Upstate Forever.”

Cooper will succeed Brad Wyche, who founded Upstate Forever in 1998 and has served at its Executive Director since then.
