State Energy Plan Public Meeting, Hosted by the SC Energy Office

Join us on June 7th from 5 to 7pm for a public engagement session on South Carolina’s energy future, hosted by the State Energy Office.

This is an opportunity to learn more about how our state is meeting and planning for its energy demand, but it is also an opportunity to provide feedback on how we should be thinking about our energy future.

Under South Carolina law, the State Energy Office is responsible for implementing a State Energy Plan. The goal of the State Energy Plan is to maximize environmental quality, energy conservation, and efficiency, while also minimizing the cost of energy throughout the state. The Plan’s statutory purpose also includes encouraging the development and use of renewable energy resources.

With more aggressive renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives combined with innovative customer options, like on-bill financing and community solar programs, South Carolina can create a State Energy Plan that maximizes clean energy deployment in our state and also lowers electricity bills for consumers.
