Seabird Sanctuary Boat Cruise #2

Back by popular demand, our next Seabird Sanctuary Boat cruise is just around the corner! Join us on Wednesday, September 9 at 6pm for a one-of-a-kind, exciting, and educational sunset nature tour to Crab Bank, a State Seabird Sanctuary and Eastern Brown Pelican Rookery in the Charleston Harbor. Tickets are $55.

Purchase your ticket today and for a limited time only, receive a complimentary signed copy of DEVEAUX, a beautiful book  that chronicles the annual cycle of seabird reproduction and renewal on an ephemeral sandbar in South Carolina.

We will run three guided boat tours from the Coastal Expeditions dock (514-B Mill Street) on Shem Creek out to Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary. This will be the chance for a close-up view of the seabird sanctuary from the water (the island is currently closed and protected by SCDNR). Each guided tour will last approximately 35 minutes and will take place on the Skimmer—a custom built 2014 Carolina Skiff that can hold up to 20 people. The last tour will leave the dock at approximately 7:15pm.

The following experts will lead the tours:

Dana Beach, Coastal Conservation League Executive Director
Felicia Sanders, S.C. Department of Natural Resources Biologist
Captain Chris Crolley, Coastal Expeditions

In between tours you can relax on the dock with a cool beverage, watch the dolphins play in the Creek, and soak in the sunset.
