Public Engagement Session on South Carolina’s Energy Future: SC’s Energy Plan and EPA’s Clean Power Plan

Join us on December 10 at 5:30 PM for a public engagement session on South Carolina’s energy future. The meeting will be hosted by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and will feature formal presentations on new EPA carbon reduction requirements, as well as a question and answer session with the public.

More information from DHEC can be found here.

We believe that South Carolina should pursue a “No-Regrets” energy plan that lowers electricity bills, creates jobs, and improves competitiveness in the 21st century marketplace. A no-regrets strategy will work for South Carolina with or without federal carbon reduction targets – and will help low income residents the most.

The No-Regrets strategy puts electricity customers first, by empowering them to lower their bills with cost-saving efficiency upgrades and affordable renewable energy. Compared to business-as-usual scenarios (building more costly power plants), this consumer-first strategy meets our power needs while saving billions of dollars and producing thousands more jobs.

The No-Regrets path also reduces pollution that endangers people’s health and degrades the climate on which our economy and quality of life depend. No Regrets means cleaner, cheaper, more competitive.
