Kaydon to Shut SC Plant as Expiry of Energy Tax Credit Looms

Kaydon Corp., a maker of specialty ball bearings for wind turbines, plans to shutter a manufacturing facility in Sumter due to the impending expiration of a federal renewable energy tax credit. The Production Tax Credit provides 2.2 cents of tax relief for each kilowatt-hour of electricity produced.
