Creative Services Associate


Under the direction of the Communications Director, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing tasks integral to enhancing engagement of various audiences with the Coastal Conservation League’s mission and to the overall cultivation, stewardship and recognition of the organizations core constituencies and stakeholders. These tasks include the creative and graphic design aspects of the Conservation League’s digital and print communications vehicles; assistance in planning and participating in events and other special engagement opportunities; and managing dissemination of communications, daily gift acknowledgment, and related data tracking and reporting.

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Essential Functions

Creative

  • Designs print materials, digital communications, presentations, and other materials as needed to enhance effectiveness with target audiences and reinforce organizational brand
  • Works with Communications, Program, and Development staff to understand and execute on graphic design needs
  • Ensures that all materials are consistent with and reinforce the organization’s brand and visual identity
  • Regularly audits donor acknowledgements, gift agreements, and other communications for accuracy, impact, and usefulness
  • Identifies, retains, and manages vendors as needed on print and other materials production
  • Organizes, maintains, and adds to the Conservation League’s library of digital photographs and other images
  • Assists with video production, art directing photo shoots, and designing social media posts as needed

Events

  • Oversees and manages all special events, including but not limited to major events, cultivation events, GrowFood Carolina tours and events, and others as warranted; works closely with Community Outreach Associate
  • Develops, oversees and executes (including setting and adhering to budget) donor, member, prospect and stewardships events and programs
  • Provides support for Conservation League event sponsorships, including tabling materials and attendance as needed
  • Works with vendors supplying services related to the organization’s events or event sponsorships
  • Attends and participates in events as needed

Coordination and Reporting

  • Designs and executes a comprehensive gift acknowledgement program
  • Manages and executes all donor reports to include but not limited to: Annual endowment reports, ad hoc impact reports on restricted gifts (in coordination with the Grants Manager), regular print and email communications to leadership level donors
  • Collaborates with the Database Administrator to accurately track all stewardship efforts in EveryAction; assures quality and accuracy of data as necessary.
  • Maintains an inventory of cultivation opportunities and donor gifts for use by gift officers and ensures that staff are aware of these resources.
  • Monitors inventory of print and other materials, and reorders as necessary; maintaining relationships with printers and other relevant vendors
  • Manages distribution of newsletters, action alerts, donor appeals, and other digital communications as directed
  • Regularly participates in Communications, Development and Program meetings to stay current with relevant issues

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of print, electronic, and graphics media
  • Superior artistic and design skills
  • Extremely proficient in image editing and digital animation and illustration software, such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan a project and manage cost and delivery
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Able to learn new skills and quickly adapt to new challenges

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design or related disciplines highly preferred
  • Related experience in a professional environment required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
