RESCHEDULED: Designing a Future for Lady’s Island: Community Forum

RSVP

This event has been rescheduled from its original date to Thursday, February 23rd.  Please sign up to join us in February.

The Coastal Conservation League and Sea Island Corridor Coalition invite you and your neighbors to join us in rethinking the future of Lady’s Island and the Highway 21/Sea Island Parkway corridor.  This is not a night of speeches but an interactive forum, providing the community a chance to conceive new solutions related to development, traffic and community preservation.

This community-centered event includes interactive map work, a panel presentation, questions and time to exchange ideas.

Who: You!  Led by renowned planning expert Victor Dover

  • Victor Dover, FAICP, is a town planner and urban designer. Based in Miami, his firm Dover, Kohl & Partners, works all over the US and abroad. In the Lowcountry, Dover, Kohl & Partners is best known for their designs for revitalizing the traditional town core of Port Royal, the Boundary Street plan in Beaufort, the neighborhood of I’On in Mount Pleasant, and the recent “Rethink Folly Road” corridor plan. Dover co-authored Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns (Wiley, 2014).

Why:

Development is returning to Lady’s Island and specifically the Highway 21/Sea Island Parkway corridor.  Join us to share your perspectives on how Lady’s Island can and should grow and change.  Plans have been adopted by the City of Beaufort and Beaufort County, and they are currently co-sponsoring a traffic study. But your voice is missing!

This forum is your opportunity to shape these plans from the citizens’  perspectives.
