The new City of Charleston Preservation Plan will serve as the basis for the discussion of numerous projects on the horizon which are poised to impact the quality of life in the city and the Lowcountry. Proposed forum topics include traffic, transportation, parking, cruise ships, and new development which all relate to the new Calhoun Street East/Cooper River Waterfront Plan, the renovation of the City Market Sheds, and the Port’s new Union Pier Cruise Terminal Master Plan, among others.

“Protecting and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike is the primary focus of the forum. We want to engage the community in a discussion regarding the cumulative effect of the opportunities and issues facing us in the near future,” said moderator and HCF executive director Kitty Robinson. “We are privileged to have a stellar panel to address the various proposals, and it is our intent to establish common ground within the community to ensure that these new visions for the future are aligned with the highest standards for which our historic city is renowned.”
